People were bound to scam their way through the Paycheck Protection Program. Dems practically threw taxpayer funds out to be snatched up and there are several examples of people taking advantage of the pandemic funds. None quite as heinous as this one here out of Florida. Police say a woman scammed her way into getting PPP funds in order to carry out a horrific murder plot that left a TSA agent dead and her small daughter injured.
“The suspect, Jasmine Martinez, is now in jail along with two others identified by police as Javon Carter and Romiel Robinson. They are each being held on charges related to the May 3 murder of Le’Shonte Jones and the attempted murder of Jones’ 3-year-old daughter, who was injured in the shooting.
Martinez allegedly concocted a plot to kill TSA agent Jones, and Robinson enlisted Carter to carry out the slaying, NBC Miami reported citing an arrest warrant. In the days before the shooting, Martinez allegedly withdrew about $10,000 from a federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan she received. The warrant alleges that she used the money to pay Carter for the crime.
According to the Miami Herald, Martinez received the $15,000 loan — given to business owners struggling during the pandemic — for a single-employment beauty salon. It’s not clear if she actually owned the salon.”
Jones was gunned down in May 2021, after a shift at Miami International Airport, outside the Coral Bay Cove apartments. Her 3-year-old daughter was injured in the shooting. The brazen attack sparked an exhaustive investigation that focused on Jones’ role as a prosecution witness. She had been the victim in an ongoing robbery case that involved Martinez. As outlined in court records, Martinez had a long series of run-ins with Jones.
She’d first been arrested on a battery charge in April 2016, accused of striking Jones, who was dating Martinez’s ex-boyfriend. The case wound up dropped. Martinez was arrested again in 2018, for again beating up Jones. After a court hearing for the case in February 2020, according to police reports, Jones was attacked in the parking lot of Miami’s criminal courthouse by Martinez’s boyfriend, Kelly Nelson. Nelson was jailed for armed robbery. He is awaiting trial, even though the chief witness has been murdered. Martinez was not charged in that case.

“My daughter was taken away from me for a very senseless act,” Jones’ mother, Darlene Dukes, said at a news conference last year, NBC Miami reported. “She didn’t deserve to be taken away from me, her siblings, her friends, her cousins and especially from her daughter.”
