Joe Scarborough Slams Hypocrisy of the Left in Lecturing Sen. Tim Scott on Being Black
Tuesday on Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and Eugene Robinson discussed Sen. Tim Scott’s (R-SC) appearance on The View and the left’s not-so-subtle racism. Scarborough levelled his sights on liberals lecturing Scott for being a black conservative, saying it is “deeply offensive”. Robinson agreed it was wrong, but qualified his statement by saying Scott was anyway wrong in his views on race relations in America.
The conversation, as usual, then turned to Republicans supposedly not “enlightened on race” and how they purportedly use Scott as a token. However, Scarborough coudn’t present any hard evidence.
Surprisingly, Robinson stood up to Scarborough, arguing that he didn’t hear too many people suggesting Scott couldn’t speak of his beliefs due to his race. Scarborough immediately interjected that he’d “rather not” name those who did say such a thing, prompting Robinson to question him further. In response, Scarborough uneasily laughed and brought the conversation to an abrupt close, an action which suggested he knew more than what he was willing to say.
In hindsight, Scarborough’s reluctance to name any examples turned out to be a sensible move since those names included some of his current and former fellow MSNBC hosts. The network, particularly Al Sharpton and Tiffany Cross, have been known to engage in inflammatory racial claims and so, the rank hypocrisy of covering Scott was clear for all to see.
Joe Scarborough’s latest comments shed an unpleasant light on the left’s claims of tolerance towards racial minorities who don’t agree with them. Meanwhile, it also proved that these same people have no issue with disingenuously calling out racism when it serves their purpose.
Scarborough has made himself such a puppet or tool for the left that I was actually surprised to see this ‘self-proclaimed’ conservative speak out against the left’s unjustified racism against Scott. You don’t have to support Scott as a presidential candidate to agree that he is an honorable man among crooks. Attacking him simply because the color of his is in direct conflict with their made-up narrative is unacceptable and sick.
