On Wednesday’s edition of The View, co-host Sunny Hostin made shockingly pro-terror comments as she demanded that the United States abandon Israel and allow the genocidal terrorists of Hamas to win the war. Her comments revealed a deep-seated anti-American and anti-Semitic sentiment, as she shrugged off the potential harm to American and Israeli hostages held by the terrorist organization.
The discussion that sparked Hostin’s outburst involved praise for Hillary Clinton, who recently told pro-Hamas voters in Michigan and Wisconsin to set aside their personal views and vote for President Joe Biden. Hostin’s fellow co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that Biden would handle the situation in the Middle East better than former President Donald Trump, who “would level Gaza without a second thought” if he thought it would benefit him politically.
Co-host Joy Behar pointed out that Trump’s actions in the region had actually resulted in peace and a stronger security alliance between the U.S. and Israel, including the relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. But Hostin was not interested in these facts, instead latching onto the idea that it should be an easy decision for pro-Hamas voters to side with Biden over Trump.
As an Arab-American, Hostin claimed that this dismissive approach to the concerns of those families who have lost loved ones to Hamas attacks is unacceptable. She objected to the idea that Americans can simply tell people to vote a certain way, without taking into account the devastation they have experienced. Her co-hosts argued that a vote for Trump would be worse, but Hostin rejected this reasoning.
But Hostin’s most concerning comments were her accusations against Israel and her calls for the U.S. to abandon its ally. She claimed that the U.S. is “complicit in murder” because of the aid and military support it provides to Israel. Citing unnamed “social sciences,” Hostin claimed that the war would end in three days if the U.S. stopped aid to Israel, essentially giving a victory to the terrorist organization Hamas.
Behar quickly shut down this line of thinking, pointing out that the war could end much sooner if Hamas would release the hostages they are holding. But Hostin saw hope in the fact that the U.S. recently abstained from a vote for a ceasefire at the United Nations, rather than vetoing it as it has in the past. She believes that pressure is working, and that Biden is listening.
In a desperate attempt to justify her anti-Israel stance, Hostin falsely claimed that the Israeli Defense Forces have been intentionally targeting and killing humanitarian aid workers. Co-host Sara Haines was quick to correct her, stating that those deaths were accidents, not intentional actions. But Hostin continued to question the humanity of anyone who disagreed with her, even using the tragic deaths of aid workers as a political weapon.
Haines also praised Clinton for her blunt response to Biden’s critics, arguing that it is time for people to “get over” themselves and accept the bipartisan system. Hostin and her fellow liberals on The View may continue to push their misguided beliefs, but the facts and actions of Trump’s time in office prove that he was a staunch ally of Israel and a strong advocate for peace in the Middle East. It’s time for liberals like Hostin to acknowledge this truth and put the safety and security of the U.S. and its allies first.
