During a recent episode of “The View,” co-host Ana Navarro made controversial comments defending Hunter Biden’s decision to defy a congressional subpoena and not appear for a closed-door deposition about his business dealings. Navarro claimed that many people, including herself and other members of the show’s panel, engage in similar behavior as the younger Biden.
Navarro admitted that Biden used his family’s name for influence peddling and dodged nearly $1 million in taxes. While these actions may not be illegal, Navarro’s comments paint a troubling picture of how influential individuals often operate in Washington. She jokingly admitted to peddling on her last name, and when challenged by co-host Sunny Hostin, Navarro doubled down on her statement.
But Navarro’s defense of Biden’s actions falls short. The fact that he used his family’s last name for personal gain is deeply troubling, and goes against presidential values. And while Navarro and others may engage in similar behavior, it does not make it right. It sets a dangerous precedent for those in positions of power to use their influence for personal gain.
Navarro also downplayed Biden’s tax evasion, claiming that 15.5% of Americans cheat on their taxes and only a small percentage face consequences. This is a problematic excuse for Biden’s actions and undermines the importance of paying taxes in a functioning society. As co-host Whoopi Goldberg pointed out, former President Donald Trump has also been accused of cheating on his taxes.
Ironically, this same coven of weirdos wanted Trump impeached for not showing his taxes from when he was a private citizen- but Biden (a member of a major political family) cheats and it’s ‘no big deal’.
The co-hosts of “The View” continued to defend Biden, with Navarro accusing Republicans of trying to get him addicted to drugs again in order to sabotage his father’s presidency. This statement is baseless and only serves to deflect from the real issue at hand – Biden’s questionable business dealings and tax evasion. It is concerning that Navarro would make such an allegation without any evidence to support it.
Despite the panel’s efforts to defend Biden, it is clear that his actions are cause for concern. The fact that he is facing multiple charges related to his taxes and has a history of drug addiction raises red flags. The impeachment inquiry against President Biden is not a waste of American taxpayer dollars, as co-host Sara Haines claimed. It is important to hold public figures accountable for their actions, especially when they involve potential corruption and illegal activities.
Navarro and her colleagues on “The View” may try to downplay Hunter Biden’s actions and defend him, but the facts speak for themselves. Using one’s family name for influence peddling and evading taxes is unethical and sets a dangerous example for others in positions of power. These actions should not be excused or defended, but rather thoroughly investigated.
The American people deserve to know the truth about the Bidens’ business dealings, and it is important that they are held accountable for their actions.
