Senator Kyrsten Sinema has been a significant role in the debate over the US-Mexico border. The Arizona senator chastised President Joe Biden for not visiting the border himself in an interview with Fox News producer Rich Edson. She said it was a “no brainer” for “anyone who is responsible for setting or making policy.”
“I absolutely think the president should visit the border. In fact, I think anyone who is responsible for setting or making policy on the border should visit the border,” Sinema told Fox News producer Rich Edson during an interview. “I mean, that’s that’s a no brainer, right?”
Sinema is now an independent after resigning from the Democratic Party in December 2020. This comes after two turbulent years in which she and West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin refused to abolish the filibuster for legislation. This reluctance essentially suffocated Democratic proposals on a number of subjects.
Sinema demonstrated her continuous dedication to the border problem when she announced she will travel to the border with Republican Senators Thom Tillis of North Carolina and John Cornyn of Texas. She also chastised Biden, as well as past Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, for failing to carry out the federal government’s “duty” on the border.
The current crisis at the border is an urgent concern and requires an immediate response. Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s criticism of President Biden’s handling of the situation and her plan to visit the border show a commitment to finding a solution. As a Republican, it is encouraging to see a Democratic Senator stand up for what is right and call out the current administration’s lack of action.

It is time for leaders in Washington to take action and address the border crisis. Sinema’s criticism of President Biden should be commended and serves as a strong example of what it looks like to put the interests of the American people first. Her visit to the border will be a chance to witness the situation firsthand, and a great opportunity to speak with border patrol agents and those affected by the crisis.
The humanitarian crisis at the border requires a leader with the courage to take a stand and the tenacity to find a solution. Senator Sinema’s example is a shining one and should serve as an inspiration for other leaders in the Democratic party to break away from Biden’s madness. It is time for Congress to come together to address this important issue and work towards a secure and compassionate solution.
