Watch: Joy Reid Gets OWNED After Lying to Viewers

With each episode, MSNBC’s Joy Reid continues to prove why she’s one of the most untruthful hosts in the media. On Tuesday, Reid had Damario Solomon-Simmons on her show, a lawyer representing the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre survivors who are seeking reparations. Reid, as expected, spewed her biased opinions without providing any evidence to back them up. She claimed on air that Oklahoma is attempting to ban teaching about the Tulsa Massacre. However, there is zero proof of the state doing so. Instead, she stated this to fit her narrative that Oklahoma isn’t transparent about its history. But as everybody knows, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Reid stated on her show, “Oklahoma is known for not being transparent about its history, and as the justice system has made it clear, they don’t provide all the facts.” She went on to question Solomon-Simmons by asking, “What do you make of the fact that even now, in the midst of your case, you still have Oklahoma officials trying to ban history, including the Tulsa Massacre?”

However, the truth is the Tulsa Race Massacre has been part of Oklahoma education standards since 2002. In 2019, the state further strengthened those requirements. So, what Reid is attempting to say is that anti-Critical Race Theory laws, which ensure that present-day students aren’t held responsible for past crimes, are somehow suppressing teachers. However, this notion is absurd as the standards explicitly mention the Tulsa Massacre.

Solomon-Simmons attempted to stretch this phony controversy about history in schools to genuine fights for civil rights in past decades. He harked back to the 1960s when the civil rights movement was at its peak, as if this situation was remotely comparable. He said, “I remember, about 20 or 25 years ago, when I was a freshman in college, wishing I had been born in the 60s to fight those battles. I never thought I’d be fighting the same fights today.” He continued by stating that this issue was disheartening, especially as he discussed it with his 88-year-old father-in-law, who lived through the civil rights movement and is a source of strength for Solomon-Simmons. He went on to say, “As hard it is right now, it pales in comparison to what our ancestors went through.”

The two’s outlandish statements on this non-existent ban on teaching history only highlights their ignorance on the matter. They seem to have forgotten the basic lesson of citing your sources. Instead, they opted to paint a false picture to fit their agenda. It’s truly disappointing to see how liberals like Reid and Solomon-Simmons continue to twist facts and manipulate narratives for their own gain. It’s a shame that they choose to ignore the progress our country has made and instead focus on nonexistent issues.

Furthermore, Solomon-Simmons tried to compare the current situation with the struggles for civil rights in the 1960s. This is an insult to those who genuinely fought for equal rights and faced discrimination, violence, and even death. It’s disrespectful to compare a non-existent history ban to the atrocities faced by those fighting for their basic human rights.

It’s offensive to the legacy of great individuals like Medgar Evers, who fought for civil rights in the face of bombings and assassinations. As much as they try to paint the present as a difficult time, it pales in comparison to the struggles faced by our ancestors.

WATCH

It’s appalling to see how Reid and Solomon-Simmons used this platform to spread false information and push their own agendas. It’s time that liberals like them stop manipulating facts and instead focus on the progress our country has made. It’s time that they stop creating controversies where there are none and start acknowledging the positive changes that have been made. It’s time to move forward and not dwell on the past. Instead of creating division, it’s time to come together and work towards a better future for all.
