WATCH: Evacuations Begin as Bouquet Fire Tops 1,000 Acres Near Los Angeles
Evacuations are underway in Los Angeles after a massive wildfire broke out during a blistering October heat wave.
Temperatures climbed into the triple digits over the weekend, and winds began picking up on Sunday.
According to CAL Fire, the Bouquet Fire started Saturday afternoon in the Angeles National Forest, east of Santa Clarita. The fire spread to more than 1,000 acres by Sunday morning.
Los Angeles County said, “This is a lawful order to leave now. The area is lawfully closed to public access.”
The areas under the evacuation order are:
- LAC-E018
- LAC-E030-B
- LAC-E031-A
Evacuation warnings are also in place for the following areas:
- LAC-E016
- LAC-E017
- LAC-E019
- LAC-E020
- LAC-E021
- LAC-E029
- LAC-E030-A
- LAC-E031-B
- LAC-E030-C
CAL Fire said the wildfire was 40% contained as of Sunday, but evacuations were still underway.
The latest fire also comes as Los Angeles continues to deal with the aftermath of the January 2025 Palisades fire. The Gateway Pundit report says only 28 properties have been rebuilt out of more than 7,000 homes destroyed in that disaster.
The report attributes the slow recovery to Democrat policies. It also says more than 80% of the homes that burned down still do not have permits to begin the reconstruction process.
