WATCH: Mainstream Media Silent as Dem Rep Warns of Chinese Espionage

The mainstream media has once again failed to address a serious national security issue, as Democratic Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi warns about potential Chinese espionage through drones flying over the United States.

On Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo,” host Maria Bartiromo asked Krishnamoorthi about the recent sightings of unidentified drones in New Jersey, and whether he believes they could be used for Chinese surveillance.

“I’m getting a classified briefing along with my fellow Republicans and Democrats as to the nature of these drones. With regard to Chinese manufactured drones, I’m very concerned about that,” Krishnamoorthi warned.

But while the Democratic lawmaker sounds the alarm on Chinese threats, the mainstream media has remained silent. In fact, Krishnamoorthi’s concerns have been reiterated by Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik, whose legislation The Countering CCP Drones Act passed the House in September.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration has been downplaying the issue, with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claiming the drones are likely just “store-bought” and “harmless.” But as Krishnamoorthi points out, these drones can potentially grant access to sensitive data and allow for the CCP to spy on Americans.

So why, then, is the U.S. government purchasing drones from a company flagged by the Department of Defense as a “Chinese military company”? According to Krishnamoorthi, it’s simply because they are cheap. But at what cost?

Watch

While the mainstream media remains silent, this is a serious national security issue that cannot be ignored. As Krishnamoorthi emphasizes, American tax dollars should not be used to purchase potentially compromised drones. Instead, we should be supporting American drone manufacturers and incentivizing them to produce trusted and secure products.

The recent drone sightings and concerns raised by lawmakers should be a wake-up call to the American public. We cannot allow for our national security to be compromised for the sake of saving a few dollars. The government must take swift action to address this issue and protect our country from potential Chinese espionage.
