Liberal Media Highlight Stark Divide Between Trump And Harris Voter Demographics And Values
MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki broke down the stark contrast between President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris’ voter demographics and values during the 2024 election, highlighting how Trump’s popularity has extended to voter blocs traditionally aligned with the Democratic Party.
Despite Harris’ attempts to appeal to a wider base, she faced criticism for her lackluster campaign and race-based policies. On the other hand, Trump’s appeal to American values and strong stance on policies resonated with voters, leading to a significant increase in support from various demographics.
Kornacki pointed out the significant drop in unity among Americans on basic values since 9/11, with only 19% of Democrats and 15% of Republicans stating that the country is united on important values. This is a stark contrast to post-9/11, when a majority of both parties believed in unity.
In terms of voter demographics, Kornacki noted that Trump won men by 12 points while Harris won women by 8 points, leading to a gender gap of 20 points for the third consecutive election. Trump also had a strong performance among married voters and those without a college degree, while Harris did better with unmarried and college-educated voters.
Kornacki showcased the stark contrast in voting patterns by displaying a map of the election results, with Trump winning in numerous rural and small population counties across the country. He also highlighted the divide between two extreme precincts in Chicago and West Virginia, where Harris and Trump respectively won by large margins.
These voter demographics represent a significant shift from previous elections, with Trump gaining more support from black and Hispanic voters than in 2020. Exit polls showed that Trump’s support among black men increased by 2 points and he gained an impressive 18 points among Hispanic men.
The liberal media has consistently portrayed Trump as a divisive figure, but the election results paint a different picture. Trump’s message of unity, support for American values, and strong policies have resonated with a wide range of voters, leading to a significant increase in support from traditionally Democratic voter demographics.
