Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered a blistering rebuttal to Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal during a heated exchange over the revocation of student visas for foreign nationals who engaged in pro-Hamas activism and violent campus encampments. While the liberal media and leftist politicians screeched about “free speech,” Rubio made it clear: America will not tolerate foreign agitators abusing their student visas to spread hatred, threaten Jewish students, and destabilize universities.
Jayapal, a far-left progressive, hysterically accused Rubio of violating the First Amendment by revoking visas for students like Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish national who openly supported Hamas in a Tufts University op-ed. “Where in the Constitution does it say that the Secretary of State can override the First Amendment protections of free speech?” Jayapal demanded. Rubio shot back with facts: “There is no constitutional right to a student visa. A student visa is a privilege… There’s a statute which says the Secretary of State gets to determine whether someone is a threat. We deny visas every day all over the world, and we’ll continue [to do so].”
The liberal media, ever eager to defend anti-American radicals, framed Rubio’s actions as an attack on free expression. But Rubio didn’t back down, emphasizing that foreign students are “guests” in the U.S., not entitled to abuse their stay. “If someone’s coming here to stir up problems on our campus, we’re gonna revoke their visa,” he declared. “Yes, proudly, and we’ll do more. We’re gonna do more of them… I’m looking to get crazy people out of our country.”
This is exactly the kind of strong leadership the Trump administration has championed—putting America first and refusing to coddle extremists. While Democrats and their media allies weep over the fate of Hamas sympathizers, President Trump and his administration are taking decisive action to protect American students and uphold law and order.

Rubio’s stance aligns perfectly with Trump’s unapologetic defense of American values. In March, Rubio stated that the administration would revoke visas for “lunatics” who turned campuses into war zones, forcing Jewish students to flee for their safety. Among those deported was Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University agitator who helped lead anti-Israel encampments. The left’s outrage only proves how out of touch they are with everyday Americans who want safety and stability, not chaos imported from abroad.
