Watch: Stephen Miller Schools Jake Tapper ‘Who’s Going to Pick the Crops’

President Trump’s astute Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, Stephen Miller, firmly addressed CNN host Jake Tapper when questioned about the administration’s immigration policies. With the launch of immigration raids and deportation efforts as a central focus of President Trump’s second term, the administration has already made a substantial impact. Since the inauguration of Trump 2.0, ICE has apprehended over 3,500 illegal immigrants, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to securing the nation’s borders.

During a heated exchange with Jake Tapper, who attempted to corner Miller with a challenging question about labor shortages in agriculture, Miller responded with clarity and conviction. Tapper referenced the Department of Agriculture’s data stating that from 2020 to 2022, 42% of crop workers were undocumented immigrants. He questioned how the Trump administration plans to protect American interests in terms of food supply and grocery prices while executing deportations.

Miller countered Tapper’s insinuation by asserting, “Well, I mean, I’m sure it’s not your position, Jake. You’re just asking the question that we should supply America’s food with exploitative, illegal alien labor.” He continued by clarifying that only a small fraction of illegal workers in the United States are employed in agriculture. “The top destination for illegal aliens are large cities like New York, like Los Angeles and small, industrial towns,” Miller elaborated, emphasizing that the majority of these individuals are not engaged in agricultural work.

Despite Tapper’s attempts to interject, Miller maintained his composure and further illuminated the issue at hand. He critiqued the previous administration’s handling of immigration by highlighting the reality that “The illegal aliens that Joe Biden brought into our country are not full stop doing farm work. They are not the illegal aliens he brought in from Venezuela, from Haiti, from Nicaragua. They are not doing farm work. They are in our cities collecting welfare.”

To address agricultural labor concerns, Miller pointed out the existence of a guest worker program supported by President Trump, assuring that such measures, alongside advancements in automation, would render this issue obsolete in the future. This strategic approach underlines President Trump’s dedication to reforming immigration without compromising American labor and economic interests.

With Trump’s border czar Tom Homan declaring an intention to intensify deportations, the administration is resolute in its mission to uphold law and order across the nation.
