For years, John Bruchalski, a former abortion doctor, practiced what he believed in and performed abortions. But after seeing the faces of the babies he was terminating, he changed his life and his perspective. He eventually became a pro-life OBGYN.
Recently, John Bruchalski spoke with pro-life activist Lila Rose where he shared a shocking story about his abortion experience.
“One night I was in one room with a young baby, about 22 weeks old. The mother wanted the baby, so I was doing everything I could to keep the pre-term labor intact so that the baby would make it to viability,” Bruchalski said.
The next room over was a woman who did not want her baby. Bruchalski said, “So I broke her water, gave her Pitocin, and delivered her.”
The baby was born alive and healthy. It was making noise, crying and wheezing, and he said that his first instinct was to “suffocate it and put a towel on it so mom wouldn’t suffer.”
Thankfully, he was forced to call in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit doctor who looked quickly and said, “Hey Bruchalski, stop treating my patients like little tumors.” The baby was taken to the NICU and lived.
This story is a reminder of how precious life is and how we must look at every life as valuable. We cannot let fear, prejudice, or our own agenda affect how we treat innocent lives. We must always protect and defend those who cannot defend themselves.

The baby was crying, wheezing:
"Do you know what my first instinct was? To suffocate it… My heart was ready, because I was bigger than it"

Bruchalski’s story is heartbreaking, but it’s also eye-opening. It’s a reminder that every life is precious and deserves respect and protection. We must never forget that every life is invaluable and we must fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
