On Tuesday, Tim Walz, the Democratic nominee for the vice presidential position, made a cringe-worthy attempt to appeal to his fellow Midwesterners at a campaign event in western Pennsylvania. Walz, a former public school teacher and football coach, seemed to play up his humble Midwest roots, suggesting that his opponent, J.D. Vance, a successful venture capitalist and author, was not a true Midwesterner.
“Please vote for me, I’m not too bright,” Walz pleaded with his supporters. “I’m just a middling public school teacher and football coach from the Midwest. I haven’t accomplished much in my life unlike my opponent.”
But Walz didn’t stop there. He went on to insult Vance, saying that he was “cosplaying” as a cowboy and admitting that he didn’t even know what a venture capitalist does.
“J.D. Vance is a venture capitalist cosplaying as a cowboy. I don’t even know what a venture capitalist does,” Walz told his supporters.
Not surprisingly, his comments were met with backlash and ridicule from many, with one conservative Twitter user pointing out that even a 15-year-old probably knows what a venture capitalist does.
“Walz’s ignorance is legitimately disqualifying for someone who could potentially be second in line for president,” the user wrote. “Even 15-year-olds understand what a venture capitalist does.”
This is not the first time Walz has embarrassed himself in recent days. During a pheasant-hunting PR stunt in Minnesota on Saturday, he was caught on camera fumbling with his shotgun. This only further perpetuated the image of him as out of touch and out of his element.
Frankly, Walz is lucky to have avoided literally shooting himself in the foot over the weekend, given how uncomfortable he looked handling a firearm.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Walz is not fit for the role of vice president. His lack of knowledge and experience, as well as his penchant for making tone-deaf comments, make him a liability for the Democratic ticket.

On the other hand, we have Vice President Vance, a politician with a successful track record and a firm grasp of policy issues. Vance has shown time and time again that he is able to effectively represent the American people and support President Trump’s agenda.
When faced with a choice between a bumbling teacher and a capable leader, the decision is clear. Americans should vote to re-elect President Trump and Vice President Vance, and reject the incompetence and ignorance of Tim Walz and his running mate Kamala Harris. We need experienced and intelligent leaders in the White House, not amateurish “cosplayers” like Walz and Harris.
