A TikTok post inciting violence against Elon Musk provoked a swift response from Acting United States Attorney Ed Martin of the District of Columbia. The post, showcased in a video, features a woman openly advocating for the assassination of Tesla CEO and White House Senior Advisor Elon Musk.
In the past, Martin has initiated investigations into figures such as Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York and Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia of California for allegedly making threatening remarks about Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), as well as U.S. Supreme Court justices, as reported by CBS News. The TikTok user in question shockingly admitted to neglecting her tax responsibilities for an eight-year period before making her inflammatory comments, which were later shared on X by the LibsofTikTok account.
In the video, the woman, who used the username “sarahcroberts” before her account was deleted, admitted, “I promised myself I would avoid the news. But obviously, I haven’t. Here’s my one thought – I have many thoughts – Elon Musk,” before making a throat-cutting gesture.
Duly noted. Thx for letting us know. We’ll put you in the system. Talk soon, M’am. #NoOneIsAboveTheLaw https://t.co/zCMohyeHML

She then brazenly continued, “Like when you do X him, and by X, I mean formally mean assassination and it’s a warning from the FBI is going to fucking show up, I don’t… arrest me,” she taunted. “You don’t have enough people to even investigate me at this point. I haven’t filed my taxes in like… eight years and yet no one’s come for me, so I’m going to fucking say it. Let’s assassinate some motherfuckers.”
Responding to the post flagged by LibsofTikTok, Martin posted from his official X account: “Duly noted. Thx for letting us know,” he replied. “We’ll put you in the system. Talk soon, M’am. #NoOneIsAboveTheLaw.” Elon Musk also weighed in, highlighting the severity of the situation. “Death threat and admission of multiple counts of tax fraud @EagleEdMartin,” Musk tweeted.
This incident underscores the contentious environment surrounding DOGE, which has purportedly identified $55 billion in savings since its establishment via a January 20 executive order by President Donald Trump. Martin’s commitment to safeguarding DOGE employees from threats is well-documented, as evidenced in his February 7 letter to Musk and Steve Davis. In a February 3 statement from the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, Martin noted that certain targeting efforts directed at DOGE employees might have contravened the law.
President Trump’s establishment of DOGE represents a sizeable step toward government efficiency, a move embraced by many American conservatives aiming to safeguard taxpayer money and promote accountability. The lack of decorum exhibited by those attempting to disparage such efforts only magnifies the necessity of upholding the rule of law and protecting civil servants from threats.
