Would-Be Robber Tried The Wrong 7-Eleven, Cashier Was Packing! [Video]

A cashier at a San Antonio, Texas, 7-Eleven discharged his firearm at an alleged armed burglar Friday prior to 12:30 a.m., minutes after the suspect approached the register and demanded money. As reported by KEN5, the suspect allegedly “menaced the cashier with a gun” and the 28-year-old cashier responded by immediately drawing his weapon and blindly shooting.

The alleged robber hastily exited the area, with the cashier believing the assailant may have been wounded during the exchange of gunfire. The local police scoured the locale using their Eagle helicopter and K9 units yet the criminal was not found. Additionally, a customer, aged 34, was grazed by a bullet while in the crossfire and received aid on-site.

No word on what will happen with the cashier—It’s a sad reality that he may be demonized for defending himself and fellow Americans but that’s become a reality under the current administration. For now, I’m just glad that they are all safe.

It was not long ago when a comparable event occurred in which the result was unfortunately not ideal for the hero. A cashier from Circle K sued the company when she was illegally fired after resorting to self-defense against a thief who had stolen cigarettes after holding a knife to her.

Mary Ann Moreno was on duty at the Circle K Sheridan in Westminster, Colorado, on the night of October 4 2020 when a man brandished two large knives, the lawsuit elucidated. When Mary Ann tried to charge him for the cigarettes he’d demanded, he overtly instructed her to give them to him for free. She upholding her morals and declined, causing the thief to display impotent outbursts. The criminal then moved behind the counter and tried to take the cigarettes himself. Noticing this, Mary Ann instinctively put her hands up to ensure his distance, which was when she made contact with his arm while warning him not to proceed.

Unfortunately, Mary Ann was later terminated from her employment two days later. The legal documents argue that Mary Ann was wrongfully dismissed since she was never given a chance to explain herself nor granted her Constitutional right of self-defense. Moreno’s lawyer, Iris Halpern, argued that companies should prioritize their employees’ safety in case of such incidents and acknowledge their legal protectors to self-defense.

The loss of Job at Circle K had devastatingly inflicted Moreno who had held the job for approximately 16 years. It not only crumbled the promise of financial security but even more gravely, it ripped away the social platform for her to converse with the world.

Since her termination, Mary Ann has had to take up another job as a cashier yet with less earnings and fewer benefits than before which has significantly damaged her total wellbeing. Therefore, an amount of damages has been proposed in the lawsuit for her mental distress, infuriation, disrespect of life, its hampered pleasure as well as her lost income.
