Jennings Shreds CNN Pundit Over Gas Prices
Scott Jennings didn’t mince words on CNN. He shut down a liberal pundit who tried to blame a small, temporary gas bump on President Donald Trump.
Adam Mockler, a commentator tied to Meidas Touch, warned viewers that higher gas prices would fuel a big Democratic wave in November. Jennings pushed back. Hard.
Here’s the crux: gas prices have mostly fallen under President Donald Trump. That matters. People notice their pump prices. Jennings also pointed out who Mockler actually works with — Meidas Touch is an anti-Trump PAC, not a neutral news outlet. That matters too.
Jennings reminded Mockler that Democrats have long embraced policies that would raise fuel costs to speed a shift away from the internal combustion engine. The exchange, transcribed via Overton News, went like this:
MOCKLER: “This is going to be a big blue wave.”
“It already was going to be before the war in Iran. And this is the most like visceral change that we’ve seen so far.”
“When I drove to the airport today, I passed by two gas stations and I was paying attention. American families are paying attention to this.”
JENNINGS: “I’m old enough to remember when Democrats were advocating for higher gas prices to bring about the end of the internal combustion engine.”
“NOW, all of the sudden gas prices are a big deal.”
MOCKLER: “Wait, which Democrats said they want higher gas prices?”
JENNINGS: “Literally ALL of them.”
MOCKLER: “They said I want higher gas prices?!”
JENNINGS: “Yes! That was the stated policy, to drive prices, up to get rid of the internal combustion engine.”
The clip went viral. Conservatives cheered. The left accused Jennings of playing politics. Both sides expected that.
Reality check: voters care about pocketbook issues. When pump prices rise, it’s a concern. But context matters. Under President Donald Trump, fuel prices have trended lower compared with recent years. That’s part of the reason this exchange landed the way it did.
At the end of the day, the CNN segment showed a few things: networks still book activists for commentary, young pundits sometimes get schooled on live TV, and Republicans will keep pointing to energy policy differences as a key campaign wedge.

Scott Jennings just made a 23-year-old MeidasTouch commentator look like a fool on live television.
Adam Mockler tried to attack Trump over gas prices, and Jennings nuked his narrative mid-roll with a BRUTAL reminder about Democrat policy.
