So not only is Biden projecting weakness, he is showing total disregard for human atrocities. Senators Rubio and Merkley put forth a bill to send China a message. The bill aimed to make it so the Chinese could no longer exploit the Uighur that were being forced to build things in labor camps. But the Biden Admin didn’t like the bill, and that’s primarily because John Kerry is profiting from these labor camps.
“Republican Senator Rubio (Fla.) and Democratic Senator Merkley (Ore.) introduced a bill in January prohibiting the importation of goods made with forced labor from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, where a genocide perpetrated by the Chinese government is afoot. It passed the Senate in a voice vote in July.
Biden’s special envoy for climate, has been lobbying their fellow Democrats against including the measure in the annual defense bill.
The reasons are equally comical and demented. Kerry is lusting for a Nobel Peace Prize for his climate work, which requires the cooperation of the Chinese. To hell with the Uyghurs so long as Kerry gets the international accolades…
Xinjiang is home to roughly half of the world’s supply of polysilicon, a raw material used to produce solar panels. A ban on its importation would send a message to the Chinese communists that the United States won’t tolerate its barbarous behavior.”
“Republican lawmakers say that Kerry’s lobbying on the issue is wholly inappropriate given Kerry’s holdings in an investment group that funds companies linked to Uyghur slave labor. Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) and Rep. Chris Smith (R., N.J.) wrote to President Joe Biden expressing their concerns about the matter.
“There isn’t a good explanation for why President Biden has not fired John Kerry, who appears to be profiting from slave labor,” Rubio explained. “But it does help explain why Kerry and others in the Biden administration continue to undermine my commonsense, bipartisan, and bicameral Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.”
So apparently John Kerry’s bank account and the hope that China is going to buckle on climate change are far more important than the lives of the Uighur to the Biden Admin. But really we have already seen how little Biden cares about the welfare of others with the stranded Americans in Afghanistan.
