Confused male swimmer Lia Thomas is making a mockery of college swimming. Thomas was an average swimmer when he competed on the men’s team, but on the women’s college swim team he has been dominating them. He doesn’t beat them by seconds, it’s by laps. His female teammates have been brought to tears realizing they have no chance of ever beating him. But somehow the rights of females don’t matter as much as a confused male. Olympic Swimmer Michael Phelps weighed in on this controversy. Basically trying to nicely say that Thomas is in the wrong.
“Phelps’s comments came during an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour last week when Amanpour asked the swimmer to react to the ongoing debate and Phelps likened it to his experience with doping in the sport, saying he does not think he has competed in a “clean field” in his “entire career.”
“I think this leads back to the organizing committees again,” said Phelps, who won 13 individual gold medals as an Olympic swimmer. “Because it has to be a level playing field. That’s something that we all need. Because that’s what sports are. For me, I don’t know where this is going to go. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
“I don’t know what it looks like in the future,” he said. “It’s hard. It’s very complicated and this is my sport, this has been my sport my whole entire career, and honestly the one thing I would love is everybody being able to compete on an even playing field.”

“Women’s sports advocates and parents at Penn have recently spoken out against the NCAA and its rules on transgender student-athlete participation, which require trans women athletes to undergo at least a year of testosterone suppression treatment before competing on a women’s team.
Thomas switched to the women’s team in 2020 and has been receiving the treatment for nearly three years.”
Phelps is trying to be diplomatic in his answer, but really it’s pretty clear that even he feels this is not fair. Men are known to be generally faster and stronger than women. So it’s beyond messed up that they are allowing this confused guy to ruin competitive swimming for women.
