The intensity of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations has surged under President Donald Trump, who is determined to tackle illegal immigration head-on. Since his inauguration, ICE’s aggressive raid strategy has netted thousands of arrests, targeting illegal immigrants, criminals, and notorious gang members nationwide. ICE’s efforts are unparalleled, with a wave of significant arrests occurring just this past Monday.
Since Trump’s presidency began, ICE has executed at least 4,829 arrests as of January 29, according to a report from NBC News. During the last week of January, the Trump administration achieved an astounding average of 753 arrests per day. Although Monday’s total arrest count is still being verified, ICE successfully apprehended several high-profile criminals.. Notably, an MS-13 gang member was among those detained. These proactive measures underscore the administration’s commitment to restoring law and order.
One significant detention involved ICE Corpus Christi apprehending Sergio Arquimides Pineda, an MS-13 gang member and aggravated felon residing illegally in the United States. According to a White House official quoted by the Caller, Pineda had a criminal conviction for assault and had an outstanding deportation order since May 2015 after failing to appear at his immigration hearing. He is currently being processed for removal and remains in ICE custody.

In contrast to the Trump administration’s rigorous enforcement, illegal immigration reached unprecedented levels under the Biden administration, with roughly 8.5 million migrant encounters at the southern border. Customs and Border Protection data revealed nearly 120,000 encounters with criminal non-citizens during Biden’s tenure, highlighting the dire need for Trump’s assertive policies.
