Jennings Rips Left-Wing Violence
Scott Jennings is not buying the usual spin. On a recent episode of his radio show, the CNN commentator argued that the country has a real left-wing violence problem, and he tied that problem to the kind of rhetoric that gets blasted every day on cable news and social media.
His comments came after the shooting threat at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where a man identified in reports as a school teacher tried to rush the event in what authorities described as an effort to kill Trump and members of his team. Jennings said the bigger issue is not just one incident. It is the atmosphere around it.
“In the hours that followed the dinner, which was postponed, a clear picture emerged. This man, a school teacher with a PhD from CalTech, had been marinated in standard-issue Left-wing talking points,” Jennings said, “things you hear every day on cable news and on the Left’s social media websites. He also attended a ‘No Kings’ rally, apparently, where people routinely hold signs and call for Trump’s death.”
He kept going, and he did not soften the point.
“‘Trump is Hitler,’ ‘Trump is a fascist,’ ‘Trump is a racist,’ ‘Trump is a threat to democracy,’ ‘Trump is a pedophile.’ That is what Cole Allen was marinating in on a regular basis, and he was programmed by people like Congressman Ted Lieu,” Jennings noted.
Jennings also played a clip of Lieu making explosive claims.
“Donald Trump is in the Epstein files thousands and thousands of times,” Lieu said. “In those files, there’s highly disturbing allegations of Donald Trump raping children. Of Donald Trump threatening to kill children.”
Jennings said that kind of talk matters. He argued that when people hear the same demonizing message over and over, some will eventually take it literally. That, he said, is how you wind up with violence that is then brushed off or explained away once the damage is done.
He also pointed to the way Democrats and liberal pundits often respond after the fact. In his view, they rush to call it a “both sides” issue and dodge the reality of what is happening on the ground.
The truth is hard to miss. When political opponents are treated like monsters day after day, some unstable people are going to act like monsters themselves. That is the danger Jennings was warning about.
