World War 11 Meme Wave Goes Viral
A resurfaced video of Rep. Ilhan Omar has been making the rounds online, and it did not take long for people to latch onto one line in particular. In the clip, Omar says the Alien Enemies Act was last invoked “during World War Eleven.” That moment quickly became the fuel for a wave of jokes across X.
The clip spread fast, and so did the reactions. Users on the platform started posting their own versions of the joke, remixing the line in all kinds of creative ways. Some kept it simple. Others went way over the top. Either way, the internet found its target and ran with it.
One post that helped kick things off was shared by I Meme Therefore I Am, which added the caption: “Rep. Ilhan Omar: “The last time the Alien Enemies Act was invoked… during World War ELEVEN.” She must have gotten her education in the Quality Learing Center. pic.twitter.com/to3h0R2PTV”

From there, the joke machine really started moving. People swapped in fake movie titles, altered names, and made-up historical references. The result was a steady stream of memes that kept piling up through the day. A lot of them leaned into the same basic gag, but each one tried to land the punchline in a slightly different way.

Some posts were just straight-up absurd. Others took a more visual route, putting Omar into fake scenes, movie posters, or wild alternate-history setups. The running theme was simple: once that “World War Eleven” line hit the internet, it was meme season.
It is a good example of how fast online culture moves. A short clip, one awkward line, and suddenly the whole platform is turning it into a joke factory. People may disagree on the politics around the original issue, but the internet side of it was pretty predictable. A viral mistake happened, and X turned it into entertainment.
By the end of the day, the meme wave had become the story. That is usually how these things go now. One clip lands wrong, screenshots spread, and users pile on with jokes until the moment becomes bigger than the original comment. In this case, the “World War Eleven” line gave people plenty to work with.
