WATCH: Tucker Carlson Says He’s Done With the GOP After 35 Years
Tucker Carlson says he is walking away from the Republican Party after 35 years of support, a move that landed hard in conservative politics and lit up social media.
During an appearance on the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast, Carlson said he no longer sees a reason to back the GOP. His criticism centered on what he described as a party that is failing to put Americans first.
“There’s no chance I would support the Republican Party. Not going to support the Democratic Party. I don’t know what I’m going to do.
But at this point, how could I, or any American voters, support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States, that puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens?
Like, it’s not possible to vote for people like that. And I’m not going to.
I’ve voted Republican my entire life. I worked at Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC.
I’ve been a consistent defender of the Republican Party for 35 years. I mean, very consistent defender. But there’s no defending this because it’s immoral.
And it’s exactly the opposite of what a political party in a democracy is charged with doing, which is representing its own voters, its own citizens, its own nation. And they’re not doing that.

Carlson also turned his attention to Vice President JD Vance, who he described as a friend, and offered advice on how to handle Donald Trump.
“I would attack you (Trump) and do press conferences every day from my house… if it were me I’d say I’m out.”
That second clip only added to the firestorm. Carlson’s message was blunt: he believes the Republican Party has crossed a line, and he thinks others will follow him out the door.
Whether that turns into a bigger break inside the MAGA world remains to be seen, but Carlson made one thing clear. He says he is done backing the GOP.
