WATCH: CENTCOM Releases Footage After Hitting 140 Iranian Military Targets
U.S. Central Command has released new footage from the latest round of American strikes on Iranian military targets, after another attack on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CENTCOM, U.S. forces carried out a third round of strikes on July 11. The military said the operation hit “approximately 140 Iranian military targets” using precision munitions launched from land- and sea-based fighter aircraft, drones, and naval vessels.
The target list was broad. CENTCOM said the strikes hit Iranian missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, ammunition storage facilities, communication networks, and coastal surveillance locations.
The latest action followed a week of rising tension in one of the world’s most important shipping lanes. CENTCOM said the strikes came in response to Iran’s attack on commercial vessels moving through the Strait of Hormuz.
In the video description, CENTCOM said the footage shows “U.S. Central Command forces striking Iranian military targets after launching aircraft and cruise missiles in response to Iran’s attack on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz during the week of July 6-11, 2026.”

In its press release from Tampa, Florida, CENTCOM said, “U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) completed a third round of strikes this week against Iran, July 11, holding Iranian forces accountable for attacking another commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz.”
The command added that during three nights of strikes, U.S. forces hit more than 300 total targets. CENTCOM said the goal was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels freely transiting the strait.
Commercial traffic through the area has continued, according to the military. CENTCOM also said that since early May, U.S. forces have helped facilitate the safe transit of more than 800 commercial vessels and 400 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical route for global energy markets. Any threat to shipping there can quickly raise concerns about oil supplies, freight routes, and regional security.
The latest strikes came after earlier U.S. action against Iran during the same week. U.S. forces previously hit more than 80 Iranian targets after Iran targeted several ships in the strait.
President Trump later said the ceasefire was “over” on Wednesday. Speaking to reporters, he said, “I don’t want to deal with them anymore. They’re scum,” before ordering another round of strikes that evening.
Iranian hostilities reportedly continued after that. A Cyprus-flagged container ship was hit, and Iran again declared the Strait of Hormuz closed on Saturday. That led to the newest round of U.S. strikes and the footage now released by CENTCOM.
