Graham had served as one of the most recognizable Republicans in the U.S. Senate. Over the years, he became a major voice on national security, foreign policy, judicial nominations, and military matters.

He was also known for his long public career in South Carolina politics before entering the Senate. Graham built a national profile through committee work, media appearances, and high-stakes fights in Washington.

His death came shortly after a trip to Kiev, Ukraine, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

For now, Graham’s family has asked for privacy. No additional details about funeral arrangements or a memorial service were included in the statement from his office.
