WATCH: O’Keefe Says Poll Worker Offered Lisa Murkowski’s Brother’s Ballot Without ID
James O’Keefe released undercover video Thursday that he says shows an Anchorage, Alaska, poll worker offering him Senator Lisa Murkowski’s brother’s ballot without requiring identification.
The video comes as Alaska’s voter ID debate remains in the spotlight. The report notes that Murkowski opposed the SAVE America Act, legislation that would require voter ID. An Anchorage poll worker also reportedly offered the ballot of Karina Waller, Murkowski’s state director, without ID during Tuesday’s primary.
O’Keefe said he did not pretend to be Brian Murkowski, cast a ballot, or sign his name. Instead, he said the team documented what happened after he provided Brian Murkowski’s name, explained that he had no ID, and asked whether Brian could still vote.
“I did not check in as Brian Murkowski, cast a ballot, or sign his name. We documented what happened when I gave his name, said I had no ID, and asked whether Brian could still vote,” James O’Keefe said.
During the exchange, O’Keefe asked the poll worker, “Would it be possible to vote without it [ID]?”
The poll worker responded, “Absolutely possible!”
O’Keefe posted the undercover footage on X, describing the encounter and the separate allegation involving Waller’s ballot.

Senator Lisa Murkowski responded by calling for O’Keefe to be prosecuted. She said she supports photo ID requirements but opposed the broader SAVE America Act because she considers it too burdensome and too centralized.
“Senator Murkowski has consistently supported the requirement of photo ID to vote, and earlier this month, she voted in favor of a separate measure on the Senate floor to do just that,” Murkowski said.
She continued, “However, the SAVE America Act is an overly burdensome, one-size-fits-all mandate from Washington.”
Murkowski then pointed to the legal consequences of voter impersonation.
“In any case, voter impersonation is a crime and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Murkowski said.
O’Keefe also shared the official statement from Murkowski’s press secretary.

The Alaska video follows another undercover effort involving O’Keefe, Cam Higby, and Muckraker’s Josh Rubin. The group recently went undercover in Muslim garb and exposed Minnesota’s ‘voter vouching’ system.
Minnesota’s Democrat Secretary of State Steve Simon suggested that O’Keefe and the others should be prosecuted for exposing the state’s vouching system. The Alaska footage now puts another election-related practice under public scrutiny, with O’Keefe and Murkowski sharply disagreeing over what happened and how it should be handled.
