At Least 3 Dead in Twin Falls In-N-Out Shooting; Police Confirm Shooter Dead

At least three people are dead and two others are injured after a shooting outside an In-N-Out near Twin Falls, Idaho. Police later confirmed that the shooter was killed.

During a news conference, officers said the gunman was dead but did not immediately provide a complete count of victims. Earlier reports had been less clear about whether the suspect had been located. Officials also warned that additional injuries may have been reported to first responders.

Videos circulating from the scene appear to show a man carrying a rifle in the drive-thru area before opening the trunk of a vehicle and retrieving something. Another clip appears to show a man with a handgun firing during the chaos. It remains unclear who that person was shooting at.

One video shows the suspected gunman firing rounds and moving through the parking lot as people run and scream. Other footage captures bystanders fleeing the area.

KTVB reporter Abby Wilt said people escaping from the restaurant ran to a nearby Ross Dress for Less and took shelter there. School buses were brought in to help evacuate people from the area.

The Twin Falls Police Department asked residents and visitors to stay away while officers and emergency crews worked the scene. Roads near the restaurant were closed, including the Perrine Bridge, and drivers were told to use alternate routes.

We are asking all residents and visitors to avoid the area so officers and first responders can work safely.

Rock Creek Fire Chief Aaron Zent told a KMVT reporter that law enforcement was searching a hotel overlooking the visitor center during the response. By about 3:30 p.m., the bridge and nearby roads remained closed.

The parking lot near Dick’s Sporting Goods was being cleared, and businesses there were placed on lockdown. Officers from Twin Falls, Buhl, Jerome, and the Idaho State Police were reported at the scene.

Authorities have not released a full account of what led to the shooting or identified the victims. The investigation remains active, and more information is expected as police process the scene and review video from witnesses.
