IDF Says Hamas Terrorist Involved in Shani Louk Abduction Has Been Eliminated

The October 7 Hamas attack on Israeli civilians produced many horrifying scenes. The treatment of Shani Louk was among the most disturbing. Louk, a 22-year-old German-Israeli tattoo artist, was at a rave in the northern Negev when Hamas militants stormed the event; at least 260 attendees were reportedly killed.

Shortly before the attack, Louk was seen dancing with friends. A video shared at the time captured that moment, in stark contrast to what followed at the Nova festival.

According to Israeli forensic evidence, eyewitness accounts, and reports about the Nova festival massacre, Louk was likely subjected to sexual violence and extreme mutilation before she was killed. Afterward, reports said, her lifeless body was paraded through Gaza as a trophy of terrorism. Images and videos reportedly showed militants spitting on her body and chanting “Allahu Akbar” while crowds cheered.

According to the report, Hamas kept Louk’s remains as a token and bargaining chip. Her body was finally recovered in May 2024.

The latest announcement came from the Israel Defense Forces. In a post dated October 20, 2026, the military identified Tamer Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Zabaq as a Hamas military wing terrorist who infiltrated Israel and took part in Louk’s abduction during the October 7 massacre.

“ELIMINATED : Tamer Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Zabaq, a Hamas military wing terrorist who infiltrated Israel & took part in the abduction of Shani Louk during the October 7 Massacre.”

“Recently, the terrorist advanced attacks against Israeli civilians & IDF troops and operated to restore Hamas’ military capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire.”

“The terrorist was eliminated in order to remove the threat he posed.”

The post gives no additional operational details about how the elimination occurred. It does, however, identify Al-Zabaq as a participant in Louk’s abduction and say he had recently advanced attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops while working to restore Hamas’ military capabilities. The IDF said he was eliminated because he posed an ongoing threat.

For Louk’s story, the IDF announcement marks the reported elimination of a Hamas figure the military says was involved in her abduction. It is the latest development tied to one of the most notorious episodes from the October 7 massacre.
