In a bombshell revelation that the liberal media refuses to cover, former Housing and Urban Development (HUD) official Catherine Austin Fitts appeared on Tucker Carlson’s podcast last week, alleging that the U.S. government has secretly spent an astronomical $21 trillion constructing a vast underground city—complete with bases, infrastructure, and transportation systems—exclusively for the wealthy and powerful to survive a “near-extinction event.”
Fitts, who served as Assistant Secretary of HUD under George H.W. Bush, cited a damning report by Michigan State economist Mark Skidmore, which uncovered $21 trillion in unauthorized spending between the Department of Defense and HUD from 1998 to 2015. Where did that money go? According to Fitts, it was funneled into a clandestine network of underground facilities designed to protect the elite while the rest of America remains in the dark.
“We have built an extraordinary number of underground bases and, supposedly, transportation systems,” Fitts told Carlson. “Some of these are documented as part of the national security infrastructure, but I think there are many more in the United States and all over the world.”
Between 2021 and 2023, Fitts and a team of investigators compiled data on these hidden facilities, estimating that there are roughly 170 underground bases across the U.S. and beneath the surrounding oceans—all interconnected by a secret transportation system.
When Carlson pressed her on the purpose of such an elaborate setup, Fitts dropped the real bombshell: “The purpose is if you thought you were going to get a near-extinction event… You have so many activities going on that you need to keep secret.”
Carlson, visibly stunned, shared his own eerie encounter with a contractor who worked on one such facility in Washington, D.C. “I knew a contractor who worked on one in the city of Washington D.C., and I remember him telling me about a power box, like a transformer box on Constitution Avenue… He told me that was actually the exit, the egress from the White House,” Carlson recalled. “And I thought, ‘that’s kind of crazy in the middle of this big city where I live … that you could build something like that without me knowing it.'”
