Chicago Police Tell Off Mayor Lightfoot With Unanimous Vote

You would think that after seeing how crime spike in cities where police were defunded, Liberals would understand how much we need the police and treat them fairly. But not Chicago’s Mayor Lightfoot. She has been abusing the Officers by refusing to properly pay them for the overtime they work. She is also refusing to honor the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting their communities. The Police Union however has taken note and has let the Mayor know that the police no longer have her back.

The Fraternal Order of Police in Chicago issued a unanimous vote of no confidence for Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the heads of the department.

“The Wednesday vote was the result of a “lack of respect for Gold Star families” and the cancellation of the St. Jude Parade, which is meant to honor the officers who have died in the line of duty, Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara said in a video update.

The no-confidence vote was, in part, a response to the working conditions, Catanzara said, adding that it included a “lack of consideration” for officers’ families and social lives.

“Too many of our officers have worked extended hours, not voluntarily but forced, and the compensation, for starters, is the same whether you volunteer or not. That makes absolutely no sense, but the department doesn’t give a damn,” he said.”

This parade is important it honors the fallen Officers in blue and gives the community a chance to interact positively with the police. The police really need the image boost since Liberals have been trashing them non-stop ever since last summer. Police Officers have families, and obligations that they are missing in order to be there for their communities. So Lightfoot should be properly compensating the officers that are forced to work holidays or on-demand.
