I honestly don’t know why the folks at CNN still claim to report the news. Between leaks of their acknowledged propaganda and their lack of coverage on topics that actually interest the American people- it’s a wonder they’re allowed to keep ‘News’ in their title. That’s probably why vice president Kamala Harris felt comfortable enough with the organization to arrange a rare sit-down interview.
She knew, there would be absolutely nothing hard-lined thrown her way.
In fact, the interview between Dana Bash and Kamala Harris was time wasted mostly discussing a nonsensical topic like Harris’s racial background. before finally lightly touching on the border crisis:
“President Biden tasked you with leading diplomatic efforts to work with Mexico and the Northern Triangle countries,” Bash stated. Adding, “to address the root causes of migration. How do you define success in this role?”
Harris’s response was as jumbled as ever, “The kind of work that has to happen is the diplomatic work that we have been engaged in including my calls to the President of Mexico, the President of Guatemala, and we have a plan to actually have another meeting coming up soon.”
“Are you going to go there?” Bash finally questioned.
Harris replied, “Yes, we’re working on the plan to get there. We have to deal with Covid issues. But I can’t get there soon enough in terms of personally getting there.”
Harris has avoided visiting the southern border since her appointment. At one point, she made an appearance in Southern California at a separate event but couldn’t be bothered to travel two hours to the nearest border facility.
Harris then took the opportunity to address the crisis only to pretend that it was caused by the Trump administration, “Part of the problem is that under the previous administration, they pulled out, essentially, a lot of what had been the continuum of work, and it essentially came to a standstill.”
To add insult to injury, Bash asked Harris what she will be most proud of. To which the career politician claimed that it would be “getting America’s children out of poverty.
“We are going to lift half of America’s children out of poverty, Dana. How about that? How about that? Think about that. I can’t tell you [chuckles], maybe it’s obvious, how much that means. What that will mean. That’s good stuff! That’s really good stuff.”
This has to be an inside joke at the White House because current spending efforts will leave American children under crippling debt for generations to come.
