Fox News Rips Into Buttigieg: Victims Would Still Be Alive Without Illegals

Fox News host Shannon Bream wasted no time in sparring with Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Sunday over illegal migrant crime in the United States.

As Democrats continue to downplay Vice President Kamala Harris’ role as border czar during the ongoing migrant crisis, Bream challenged Buttigieg over the issue on “Fox News Sunday.” With reports claiming that Democrats have been sending talking points to lawmakers and others to minimize Harris’ involvement, Bream pressed Buttigieg on the reality of the situation.

During the discussion, Buttigieg attempted to shift the conversation towards the Republican National Convention (RNC) and their messaging on immigrant crime. But Bream was quick to push back, pointing out that if these individuals were not in the country illegally, “people would still be alive.”

Bream acknowledged the fact that even Democratic governors and mayors have recognized the impact of immigration and crime in every state, making it a bipartisan issue. However, Buttigieg attempted to dismiss this and focus on the RNC’s message that immigration ultimately leads to an increase in crime.

But Bream was not willing to let Buttigieg dominate the conversation, and as he continued to speak over her, she reminded him of the “sweep of high profile cases” and the victims who have suffered at the hands of illegal migrants. She stressed that if these criminals were not in the country illegally, “people would still be alive.”

However, Buttigieg brushed off the examples of violent crimes and sexual assaults by illegal migrants, claiming that “crime is down under Joe Biden” and “crime was up under Donald Trump.” He even accused the network of not reporting on the data, prompting Bream to quickly respond that they do invite and welcome the presentation of such data.

But the reality remains that since President Biden took office in January 2021, roughly 1.9 million illegal migrants have escaped into the interior of the U.S., known as “getaways.” And even worse, there are countless cases of women falling victim to violent crimes and sexual assaults, including 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, 37-year-old mother of five Rachel Morin, and 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley.

As the conversation ended, Bream made it clear that she and her colleagues still welcome and invite a fact-based discussion on the issue, making it clear that the truth must prevail. In light of these alarming statistics and heartbreaking stories, it is evident that the surge of illegal immigration under the Biden administration has resulted in an increase in crime, and it’s time for Democrats to take responsibility for the consequences of their policies.
