After threats of investigation of from Florida over failure to automatically refund donations to those who had donated to Canadian truckers, GoFundMe has decided to reverse course, Timothy Nerozzi reported for FOX Business. The crowdfunding site, which on Friday announced it had frozen the donations, was initially having those who donated request a refund, otherwise, it was going to redistribute the donations to other charities.
It is a fraud for @gofundme to commandeer $9M in donations sent to support truckers and give it to causes of their own choosing.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) called the initial plan “a fraud” and tweeted on Saturday morning that he was going to work with Attorney General Ashley Moody “to investigate these deceptive practices.”
GoFundMe really thought they could get away with ‘redistributing’ donations. The organization intended to force donors to request their money back, otherwise, they were going to put that money to other causes. Causes of THEIR choosing. That’s theft and fraud…
All at the request of Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau reportedly:

GoFundMe isn’t necessarily doing the right thing and allowing donors to send money to the charity of their choosing—But they reportedly will not be ‘redistributing funds’. Instead, reports show the money will be returned to the donors.
Trudeau called protestors the ‘small fringe minority but the reality here is that the majority of Canadians are for freedom. It’s the government that is the minority in this argument. The audacity of Trudeau to step in and try to have donor funds seized should be all the proof anyone needs that the protests should continue.
