Anyone can see that the Biden administration’s border policies have been a disaster from the start. El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser has been a vocal critic of the President for his handling of the situation, but it seems the mayor is still trying to defend the indefensible.
Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade went ballistic on the mayor when he tried to make excuses for the President’s failed policies. Kilmeade said it’s clear that Leeser “cleaned up the streets” ahead of Biden’s visit and that it wasn’t a candid look of El Paso.
“He’s come once and his policies did this. He broke the border, destroyed your city and he wasn’t called out for it, and that’s on you,” Kilmeade said. “And [Alejandro] Mayorkas is an embarrassment to this country, and he’s destroyed your city.”
Kilmeade’s comments summed up the sentiment of many in the GOP who are fed up with the Biden administration’s lack of action to secure the border. The President has done nothing to address the influx of migrants, and the administration has instead focused on rolling back many of the successful policies put in place by the Trump administration.
The GOP has been pushing for stronger border security for years, and it’s clear that their calls have gone unanswered. It’s time for the Biden administration to step up and take responsibility for the crisis at the border. It’s time for them to put an end to the chaos and start enforcing the laws on the books.
It’s time for the Democrats to stop making excuses and take action to secure the border. The GOP will continue to fight to ensure that the border remains secure and that the Biden administration is held accountable for its actions. As Kilmeade said, “That’s on you.”
Title 42 is set to end while Republicans continue to fight to keep it in place. It’s the last stitch of border security left from the Trump administration and the only thing between the US and complete chaos at the border.
