It’s clear that the Biden administration has failed to secure the southern border, as it’s now facing an unprecedented crisis. This crisis has resulted in the exploitation of migrant children for sex trafficking and child labor.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee recently spoke out against the Biden administration and warned of the dangers of unaccompanied minors being trafficked.
She highlighted the fact that the Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement has lost track of 85,000 children that have come into the United States. That’s an alarming number, and it’s likely only going to continue to grow unless the Biden administration takes decisive action to secure our borders.
What’s worse is that the exploitation of unaccompanied minors isn’t a new issue; it’s been going on for years. Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa reported similar exploitation of unaccompanied minors in 2015, yet the Obama administration failed to address the issue.
The Republican Party has been outspoken on the need for secure borders and a lawful immigration system. It’s clear that the Biden administration’s policies are only encouraging more illegal immigration. The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) reported more than 600,000 migrants evading CBP in fiscal year 2022, and it only continued to grow in 2023, with over 250,000 encountered in December.
The exploitation of unaccompanied minors is nothing short of modern day slavery. It’s a tragedy, and it needs to be stopped. The Biden administration must take decisive action to secure our borders and keep these vulnerable children safe.
The GOP has a better plan for our border security. Their policies would ensure that our borders are secure and that our immigration system is lawful. The GOP understands that only through strong borders can we ensure that those who wish to come to the United States can do so safely and legally.
