VIDEO: FBI Says It Stopped Drone Plot Targeting UFC Freedom 250
Federal agents say they stopped a serious threat before it could turn into a public mess. The FBI and Secret Service said a multi-state investigation led to arrests tied to an alleged plot aimed at the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C.
According to the reports, the plan allegedly involved explosive drones, a push to trigger chaos, and a sniper team waiting for the crowd to react. A second wave was also said to be aimed at the White House gates once the confusion started.
Five people were arrested, and officials said the broader network may have included 23 people. That is a big number, and it is exactly why law enforcement is taking the case seriously. Large public events are a prime target for people who want attention, fear, and damage all at once.
A separate post on X identified one suspect as Tycen Proper of Ohio and said the alleged motive was believed to be centered around the Epstein files.
President Trump was asked about the situation during a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He said he hadn’t heard about it but joked, “The attack that I watched were the fighters.”
“He saw it too, by the way,” Trump added, gesturing to Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. “He was sitting back home in his beautiful palace, and he was watching that. And they were as good fights as I’ve ever seen.”
“It was the best fight,” said the UAE leader.
Asked if he would host another fight on the White House lawn, Trump said, “Well, I don’t know. I got away with it because 250 years. Maybe in another 50; maybe at 300.”

FBI Director Kash Patel said multiple people were taken into custody and that the threat was stopped before anyone could act on it.
“On June 10, FBI and our law enforcement partners became aware of a potential threat to the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C. involving individuals outside of the National Capital Region – and thanks to the rapid action of this FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold.”
“While the result represented the best of investigative work, it was also nothing out of the ordinary for this law enforcement team – we are built to detect, respond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens – particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC 250 fight. That’s exactly what we did here. I want to thank our great agents and partners, this work remains ongoing and we will continue to update the public as permitted.”

Secret Service Director Sean M. Curran said his team worked closely with the FBI throughout the case.
“Our most important responsibility is safeguarding the President and every person under Secret Service protection. The U.S. Secret Service worked closely with the FBI throughout this investigation. In the days leading up to this weekend, our special agents, mission support personnel, and technical security teams worked around the clock to identify those responsible and hold them accountable. Equally important to our protective mission is ensuring accountability through the justice system. To that end, our formal comments regarding the specifics of this case will be made through court filings.”
“Protective intelligence cases are on the rise, and our teams work tirelessly behind the scenes to investigate threats, identify those responsible and ensure accountability.”

For now, the big takeaway is simple. Federal agents say they saw the threat early, moved fast, and shut it down before it could hit a high-profile event in the nation’s capital. That is the kind of result people expect from federal law enforcement when the stakes are this high.
