Watch: Don Lemon Tries To Educate Christians About God, The Backlash Was PRICELESS

Meghan McCain from ‘The View’ is not what I would consider a ‘Conservative’ but that’s the role she plays on the ultra-liberal daytime gobble. In an interview with CNN host Don Lemon, McCain swooned over his recent engagement to his long-time boyfriend. She then points out that the Vatican announced the catholic church will not offer blessings to same-sex marriages. Nothing really new there, so clearly this was just a hook for ratings.

Lemon, who likely wrote the question himself, took the bait and claimed that Christian’s views about same-sex marriage is “not what God is about.”

“I respect people’s right to believe in whatever they want to believe in, their God,” Lemon began, before immediately launching into an attack on the faith of conservative Christians. “But if you believe in something that hurts another person or that does not give someone the same rights or freedoms — not necessarily under the Constitution — because this is under God.”

“I think that that’s wrong. And I think that the Catholic Church and many other churches really need to reexamine themselves and their teachings because that is not what God is about,” Lemon declared. “God is not about hindering people or even judging people, and to put it in the context of race… Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said the most segregated… time on earth is 11 a.m. on a Sunday morning.”

He continues trying to ‘educate’ Christians by quoting scripture:

“So I think that religion and the pew keeps us from actually — they’re barriers from people actually getting to know each other. So I would say to the pope and the Vatican and all Christians or Catholics or whomever, whatever religion you happen to belong to out there, go out and meet people and try to understand people, and do what the Bible and what Jesus actually said, if you believe in Jesus, and that is to love your fellow man and judge not lest ye be not judged,” Lemon added, garbling Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:1-3.

“Instead of having the pew hinder you, having the church hinder you… start breaking bread with people,” Lemon stated. He then went on to talk about his connection and how he and Whoopi Goldberg are close.

That’s likely how this weird question landed on the show, his close connection with Whoopi. The Vatican not offering blessings to same-sex marriage is not news. The whole thing just seemed like another opportunity for Lemon to paint himself as a victim of discrimination- again. Why? So he can demand that people turn their back on his beliefs to suit him?

The folks on Twitter saw right through his arrogance. One user wrote “As a Gay man I can totally say that god does judge the Bible does say homosexuality is a sin but guess what the Bible says many things are sins. We all sin and we are forgiven. will he judge my sin of homosexuality yes will he also judge you for your sin yes!!! Sin is sin.”

Another user added: “The word of God disagrees. Gods word is the known Will of God. Those not alignment with God’s word must adjust. There is not 2 ways around it. Plain as day Revelation 22:15. These people really think they are above God because what they are getting away with right now.”

Another wrote: “If Don Lemon thinks God doesn’t judge he hasn’t read his bible! God does judge and is the only one capable of judging man!”

The hits just kept coming for Lemon. Sure, there were a few who agreed but the majority ripped into Lemon for trying to rewrite the bible to suit himself and educate people of faith in his image of God. That’s arrogance at its finest.
