During a recent CNN appearance, Delaware Democrat Senator Chris Coons displayed the elitist arrogance that has come to define the modern Democratic Party. Instead of addressing real issues facing Americans, Coons chose to insult “your average Middle American,” suggesting they are too ignorant to locate Greenland on a map. His condescending remarks, captured in a now-viral clip, reveal the contempt Democrats hold for the very people they claim to represent.
“Look, your average Trump voter laughs at us and says ‘he’s owning the libs,’ and your average Middle American says ‘why are you wasting your time on Greenland? I can’t even find it on a map!'” Coons sneered, laughing at the idea of expanding U.S. territory under President Trump’s leadership.
This isn’t just an offhand comment—it’s a window into the liberal mindset. While Democrats lecture about “unity” and “compassion,” their leaders openly mock hardworking Americans as uneducated rubes. Meanwhile, the liberal media, which never misses a chance to amplify Republican missteps, remains conspicuously silent. Where are the outraged headlines from CNN, MSNBC, or The New York Times? If a Republican had made such a remark, the outrage machine would be in overdrive.
But Coons didn’t stop there. He went on to fearmonger about President Trump’s foreign policy, claiming that even discussing Greenland’s strategic value would “threaten NATO” and upset the Danes and Canadians. Never mind that Trump’s America First agenda has strengthened U.S. influence worldwide, forcing allies to contribute their fair share while securing American interests. Coons would rather side with foreign governments than stand up for American sovereignty.

President Trump, by contrast, has never looked down on the American people. His policies—from tax cuts to deregulation to securing the border—have empowered working-class families, the very people Democrats like Coons dismiss as map-illiterate fools. While liberals mock Middle America, Trump delivers jobs, wage growth, and energy independence.
The hypocrisy is staggering. Coons claims Democrats must focus on “the two issues that I said were the main issues to the Democratic Party and working Americans.” Yet, instead of addressing inflation, crime, or the border crisis, he spends his time belittling voters and laughing at Trump’s bold vision for America.
