FAA Employee Busted After Shocking Trump Kill Threat
A federal aviation employee in New Hampshire is facing federal charges after prosecutors say he made threats against President Trump. Authorities arrested 35-year-old Dean DelleChiaie of Nashua and charged him with communicating an interstate threat.
According to ABC News, investigators say the case began with disturbing searches on a work computer. Those searches reportedly included ways to kill Trump, the percentage of people who want Trump gone, how to get a firearm into a federal facility, previous assassination attempts on the president, and the phrase “I am going to kill Donald John Trump.”
Secret Service agents met with DelleChiaie in February. Prosecutors say he admitted to making the threats. He also reportedly told officers he was depressed, in therapy, drank regularly, and used marijuana and other drugs. Even after that, he remained free.
Officials say the situation escalated on April 21. Prosecutors allege that DelleChiaie used a personal email account to send a threat across state lines to the White House email address. The subject line was “Contact the President,” and the message said, “I, Dean DelleChiaie, am going neutralize/kill you — Donald John Trump — because you decided to kill kids — and say that it was War — when in reality — it is terrorism. God knows your actions and where you belong,” according to the complaint.
Federal cases like this move fast because a threat does not need to become physical violence before it becomes a major crime. Once investigators see a pattern of searches, messages, and admitted threats, the response can turn serious in a hurry.
If convicted of all charges, DelleChiaie faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He appeared in court on Tuesday and has been assigned a public defender.
