The midterms weren’t a landslide victory for anyone and both parties are disappointed at how split the votes really are. Democrats fully expected to lose hand-over-foot and historically speaking—they should have. While the gals on the view were busy celebrating that Democrats didn’t have their reads handed to them, Joy Behar played the part of ‘Debbie Downer’ and slammed voters for not just handing Democrats a super majority.
“On the one had you have a party that tried to save health care, that tries to save your right to vote, that tries to preserve a woman’s right, that tries to save a planet, and we still don’t have a supermajority? Still, half of this country is not paying attention to their own needs,” Behar said.
Fellow co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said the election was a referendum on “Republican extremism.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin praised President Biden again on Thursday for not talking about crime, inflation and immigration while on the campaign trail because they were “Republican talking points.”
She cheered young-voter turnout and dismissed criticism of Biden for not talking about economic issues, crime or the southern border in the lead-up to the election.
“Those are Republican talking points. He had his finger on the pulse of what the everyday American needed, and he explained that our democracy was at stake and if you look at the exit polls, the two biggest issues — number one, saving our democracy and number two, women’s health care rights,” Hostin said.
So much is still undecided, including who the hell even has the majority following the midterms. I know this much, whoever owns it will only do so by a very small margin so the GOP better be ready for a fight because passing or blocking anything will not be for the faint of heart.
