Jeffrey Tucker Says COVID Restrictions Were Meant to Delay Natural Immunity

Brownstone Institute founder and president Jeffrey Tucker says the public was never given the full story about the COVID response.

In an hour-long conversation with computational biologist Dr. Jessica Rose, Tucker discussed what he described as some of the most troubling revelations from the pandemic years. He said top officials at the FDA and NIH told him that lockdowns, school closures, masking, Plexiglas barriers, social distancing, and stay-at-home orders had a purpose beyond public safety.

According to Tucker, the goal was “to delay the onset of natural immunity… until after the shots were online.”

Tucker acknowledged that the claim “sounds like a wild conspiracy theory.” But he said multiple people who worked inside the agencies and companies involved later confirmed the explanation “without a shadow of a doubt.”

The argument challenges the public explanation for “flatten the curve.” Tucker said the policies were not simply designed to slow the spread while hospitals prepared. He claimed they were intended to delay rising immunity and postpone the point when the virus might be addressed through natural exposure.

“We all have what we consider to be the most shocking feature of the COVID response,” Tucker said. “But for me, I still can’t get over the fact that I was told by top FDA, NIH officials that a major reason for social distancing, lockdowns, masking, Plexiglas, stay-at-home orders, and everything else was to delay the onset of natural immunity, to delay rising seroprevalence levels, to delay endemicity until after the shots were online.”

He said that meant the restrictions were not merely a temporary effort to protect people. “It was exactly the opposite,” Tucker said. In his telling, the restrictions kept people from developing natural resistance while officials waited for an injection that could then be deployed and credited with solving the crisis.

The consequences were substantial. Small businesses were wiped out. Children were kept out of classrooms, with the article pointing to reading scores falling back to 1971 levels. Families faced travel restrictions, masking rules, and stay-at-home orders.

Tucker said the explanation sounded impossible until he heard it from people who were inside the agencies and companies as events unfolded. He claimed those sources described the restrictions as a way to delay natural exposure and immune upgrades until the shots were ready.
