Liberal City Leader Finally Sees The Light And Backs The Blue

Another Liberal leader is realizing just how wrong they were. San Fransico Mayor London Breed is doing a 180 when it comes to the police. Breed was one of the Liberal leaders that defunded the police. But after a year of surging crime rates, she sees that she was wrong and not only funding them again, she is working with them to fix the problem.

Mayor London Breed launched an emergency police intervention in San Francisco’s crime-ridden Tenderloin neighborhood Tuesday, targeting a pipeline of illegal drugs that has been fueling a surge in gun violence and deadly fentanyl overdoses.

Breed’s anger and frustration over the crime surge in the city were on full display at her noon news conference.

“It’s time the reign of criminals who are destroying our city, it is time for it come to an end,” she said. “And it comes to an end when we take the steps to more aggressive with law enforcement. More aggressive with the changes in our policies and less tolerate of all the bullshit that has destroyed our city.”

Breed announced new measures that are intended to make San Francisco less awful and crime-ridden. These include:
  • Executing an Emergency Intervention Plan in the Tenderloin neighborhood,
  • Securing emergency police funding to ensure we have the resources to combat major safety problems over the next several months,
  • Amending our surveillance ordinance so law enforcement can prevent and interrupt crime in real-time — something they’re effectively barred from doing now — to better protect our homes and businesses,
  • Disrupting the illegal street sales of stolen goods that have become a clear public safety issue and are contributing to retail theft.”

Breed’s remarks appear to contradict her prior position when she came out in support of the far-left defund the police movement in the wake of the death of George Floyd last year, saying that the incident “brought forward the devastating impacts of police violence against African-Americans in this country.”

In a July 31, 2020, statement, Breed said that she was seeking to divert more than $100 million from the San Francisco Police Department to social justice programs:”

Most Liberals are coming around now. They are realizing the defund the police movement not only didn’t make sense, it also hurt their communities.
