Women were done a huge disservice when Biden came into Office. Biden passed an equality act that is anything but. His administration made it so female athletes might as well call it quits, and to top it off, he took away any sense of privacy they may have had in restrooms/locker rooms. He did this by giving transwomen preferential treatment over women, ignoring biology, and caving to this backward social trend. But in South Dakota, women’s rights are being protected by the local state government and the Governor is giving women the support they need.
Gov Kristi Noem tweeted about the accomplishment.
“In South Dakota, we’re celebrating #InternationalWomensDay by defending women’s sports! I’m excited to sign this bill very soon.”
“A bill that would ban transgender women and girls from competing on the sports teams that match their gender identity was passed by the South Dakota Senate on Monday.
Senate Bill 1217 passed by a 20-15 vote Monday.
The ACLU of South Dakota testified against the bill, stating it violates the United States Constitution and federal civil rights laws.
“In an attempt to ‘level the playing field,’ House Bill 1217 excludes an entire group of women and girls from meaningful participation in sports,” said Jett Jonelis, ACLU of South Dakota advocacy manager.”
“…South Dakota “will be the first state this year to pass legislation of this sort.” However, the Mississippi House passed a bill 81-28 earlier this month to prohibit transgender athletes from competing on girls’ and women’s sports teams.”
“President Biden issued an executive order in January calling for schools nationwide to allow students to participate on sports teams that align with their chosen gender identity.”
“White House Press Secretary Psaki said that “the president’s belief is that trans rights are human rights.”
This is great that South Dakota is standing up for women’s right. The rest of the nation should follow suit. Men do not belong in women’s sports regardless of how they identify. It’s just not fair to women. Trans people can start their own league if they want, but otherwise, they should refrain unless they want to play sports on the team that matches their actual gender, not the identity they have given themselves.
