Once again, President Joe Biden has found a way to throw Vice President Kamala Harris under the bus, and this it seems like he did it on purpose. In just a month’s time, Biden has undercut Harris’s campaign not just once, but twice, ultimately benefiting the Republicans.
During an appearance on “The View” in late September, Biden let slip that he was able to delegate Harris’s responsibility on everything from foreign policy to domestic policy. This statement undermines the media’s narrative that Harris is only a bystander in the current administration and that any failures would have been successes had she been in charge.
Biden repeated this blunder on Monday night when he spoke with Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis about Hurricane Milton. This conversation took place while Harris was accusing DeSantis of playing political games by reportedly refusing to answer her phone call. However, DeSantis denied the allegations and stated that he was not even aware that Harris had reached out.
What’s even more damning is that just one day after DeSantis denied Harris’s accusations, Biden praised the governor’s response to the hurricane during a press conference. He commended DeSantis for doing a great job despite Harris’s attempt to attack him.

This is a major setback for Harris, who has been receiving backlash for appearing on a controversial podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” while parts of the Southeastern United States are still struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. It’s hard to believe that Biden unintentionally threw Harris under the bus for the second time in just a month. It’s becoming increasingly clear that Harris is not seen as a valuable member of the administration by Biden, and this will certainly give Republicans ammunition as they portray Harris as a callous candidate who is too caught up in her own political agenda to focus on the needs of her fellow Americans during a time of crisis.
It’s concerning that Biden may have deliberately undermined Harris’s campaign with these slip-ups. However, it’s even more troubling that he may not have been aware of his actions and the impact they would have on Harris’s image. Either way, it reflects poorly on both Biden and Harris as leaders.

Harris’s recent interview on a risqué podcast while Americans are suffering from a severe hurricane demonstrates a serious lack of judgement and compassion. This irresponsible behavior adds fuel to the accusations made by Republicans, portraying Harris as out of touch and unfit to lead.
These incidents paint a negative image of both Biden and Harris. It’s apparent that their relationship is not as strong as it seems, and Harris’s reputation has been tarnished by these careless actions. As Americans, we deserve strong and responsible leadership, and it’s troubling to see that both Biden and Harris may fall short in this aspect.
