You know it’s over for Biden whenever someone as ultra-liberal as a New York Times writer calls him out on his BS. It’s one thing to not defend the non-leader whenever he makes massively deadly mistakes, but to actively attack his adminstration. Not just attack, but hold them accountable when they lie? That’s almost impressive for the left.
Biden’s order to withdraw from Afghanistan without properly evacuating and securing the country left them vulnerable to attack. In fact, many predicted as much before news of the stranded Americans there hit the US.
Last Thursday, ISIS-K attacked the airport in Kabul where the US and allies were attempting to evacuate. 13 US service members were killed as a result of that attack as well as over 60 Afghans. Countless injuries were reported and news outlets noted that the attackers were sucide bombers.
In a presser, White House Press Sec Jen Psaki tried to claim that Biden took one of the only two options available to him. She asserted that he chose the better option:
The Press Sec sneered at the first options saying, “you send tens of thousands of more troops in Afghanistan to potentially lose their lives, that’s an option. Some have called – some support that. That’s their prerogative.”
Psaki then claimed the only other option available was to “pull out” adding, “you don’t put anyone at risk, you don’t put troops at risk, and you don’t evacuate more than 105,000 people, that’s another option.”
Just then, Michael Shear from the New York Times called Psaki out for lying saying, “You guys have said repeatedly – presented this idea that there were only two choices. What evidence do you have that there weren’t other choices that could have been made? I mean”… Shear scoffed.
Psaki interrupted the reporter and demanded he tells her another option. She was floored when Shear provided:
“[Biden] could have said to the Ghani government in May, that we’re gonna start a mass evacuation of all of the U.S. personnel, we’re gonna put out an announcement that says, you know, “We advise all of our Afghan allies who worked with us to start evacuating as well.” It would have been a show of no confidence in the Ghani government, there might have been other repercussions, I’m not suggesting that’s the right way to have gone, I don’t know, but it is another option. And I’m sure there’s ten other options that I haven’t thought of that – so why do you present it as these being the only two options?”
Psaki was forced to admit there were other options but quickly tried to imply that all options have consequences. That’s when the Press Sec moved to imply the attack could have happened in May if Biden chose to withdraw then but Shear wasn’t having it. The NYT’s reporter pointed out the obvious— Afghans were not overrun with Taliban forces in May.
Watch
You know that stung Psaki who is desperately trying to cover Biden unforgivable mistakes and secure votes for Democrats in the midterms. There is little chance of that. This is only the latest Biden-created crisis, and Americans are waking the hell up.
