President-elect Donald Trump and “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker engaged in a heated debate over Trump’s promises to deport illegal immigrants during an interview that aired Sunday morning. As Welker tried to downplay reports of illegal immigrant gangs taking over apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, Trump stood firm in his promise to crack down on immigration and protect American citizens.
Throughout the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump made it a priority to highlight the dangers of illegal immigration and the impact it has on American communities. He emphasized the tragic deaths of Rachel Morin, Laken Riley, and Jocelyn Nungaray, all caused by criminal illegal immigrants, to underscore the importance of enforcing immigration laws. Trump pointed out that these tragedies could have been prevented if those individuals had been properly deported.
But Welker continuously tried to discredit Trump’s claims, arguing that enforcing immigration laws would be unfair to those who have been in line for legal immigration for years. Trump, however, stood firm in his belief that those who enter the country illegally should not be rewarded and that the safety of American citizens should come first.
Welker also dismissed reports of illegal immigrant gangs taking over apartment complexes and communities in Aurora, Colorado. But Trump quickly shut down her claims and referred to data from United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, showing that over 13,000 people with homicide convictions were among those not detained. He also mentioned the viciousness and violence of gangs like MS-13 and Venezuelan gangs, and their blatant disregard for the law and American citizens.
Despite Welker’s attempts to defend the liberal narrative, Trump held his ground and reiterated the need for stricter border control and deportation of criminal illegal immigrants. He also highlighted the failures of local leaders, such as Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Mayor Mike Coffman, to address the issue of illegal immigrant gangs in their communities.
The mainstream media may try to downplay the reality of illegal immigration, but the facts speak for themselves. The Border Patrol has encountered over 8.5 million people at the U.S.-Mexico border since the start of fiscal year 2021. And as the numbers continue to rise, the safety and security of American citizens should be paramount.
In the face of misinformation and deceit from the liberal media, Trump’s tough stance on illegal immigration remains a crucial issue for the protection of our country and its citizens. Let’s support Trump in his efforts to uphold the law and defend our nation against dangerous criminals.
