Holy Crap! Fetterman Struggles Through Worst Press Conference Yet

Well… This was another disaster.

Sen. John Fetterman (D., Pa.) has been embarrassing himself and his party in recent months with his misfires during press conferences and interviews. Despite his struggles with clear communication, Fetterman’s office has attempted to gloss over his difficulties with doctored quotes, and the media has framed his health struggles as a strength.

This feeling of incompetence was clarified through a press conference on Thursday where Fetterman attempted to speak about the Democrats’ letter to Biden on the Fourteenth Amendment and a potential default on the budget. “The entire GOP debt ceiling negotiation is a sad charade. And that’s exactly what’s wrong … about what’s wrong … when Washington,” the senator said, not able to get through a sentence.

Perhaps a more pressing issue is the 14th Amendment itself. The amendment touches on many aspects of citizens’ rights and is known for phrases such as equal protection of the laws. Scholars suggest that a clause in the 14th Amendment, “the validity of the public debt, authorized by law … shall not be questioned,” could be applicable to the debt limit. Despite this, legal experts argue that Section 4 of the 14th Amendment would allow the Treasury Department to keep borrowing money past the debt limit and make it unconstitutional for the U.S. to fail to make payments.

Democrats have an obligation to their constituents to protect their interests and ensure that taxes are being used in the right places. Instead, they are using it to wild spending that leads to a larger debt and unsustainable deficits. Fetterman’s press conference demonstrated that he is not the right person to be in office, representing these Democrats with his struggles in speech communication.

It is essential to recognize how uncontrollable situations can affect people and their ability to communicate, but it is also important that lawmakers are capable and responsible enough to ensure the safety and well being of the people they serve.

Watch

To protect American’s interest, the GOP must hold accountable the Democrats who so recklessly spend their tax dollars and focus on working towards a balanced budget. Fetterman’s inability to competently and confidently express himself will only cement this idea that Democrats continue to increase our country’s debt.
