It is the job of our leaders to do what is best for their constituents. So it is a given that we all need the police for emergencies, to prevent crime, and keep our roadways safe. But Liberal leaders decided that buckling to the BLM movement and defunding the police was somehow what their people needed. So now these cities are all suffering due to a lack of police. Texas Governor Abbott looks to have the solution to get everyone on track. He is going to defund Texas cities that defunded/defund the police.
“Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is done allowing progressive cities to self-immolate via efforts to defund the police.
In an interview with Fox News, Abbott responded to a recent shooting in Austin by matter-of-factly stating, “We are going to defund the city.”
Abbott tweeted About the decision:
“This is what defunding the police looks like. Austin is incapable of timely responding to a victim shot in the head. Texas won’t tolerate this. We’re about to pass a law that I will sign, that will prevent cities from defunding police. Sanity & safety will return.”
“Abbott also vowed to sign House Bill 1900 into law.
The bill effectively prevents cities from defunding municipal police agencies by drying up resources.
This would be done by prohibiting cities that defund police from annexing more territory, allowing residents of those cities to disannex themselves, and ensuring that the cities pay for any state police assistance they require in order to shore up their law enforcement.”

This is exactly what the doctor ordered. We need leaders to take action and get back to supporting the blue. The data shows just how much we need the police. Crime has spiked wherever police were defunded. So now we just need other leaders to take on this policy, which may be a tall order as some liberals don’t seem to care about their constituents.
