The FBI has long been known as a stalwart in our criminal justice system, and for good reason. But their recent behaviour in regards to the investigation into President Joe Biden’s alleged criminal scheme with a foreign national has left many Republican politicians, including Kentucky Rep. James Comer, feeling frustrated and betrayed.
On Monday, Comer stopped by “Jesse Watters Primetime” to air his grievances. Comer is chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and as he told Watters, the FBI has “been very patronizing” and refuses to provide documents that would further the investigation into the Biden family’s activities in countries like Romania and China. Comer said he has asked for a phone call with FBI Director Christopher Wray to discuss the situation, but has yet to receive one.
“These documents are a key part in continuing the investigation into the Biden family,” Comer said. “If the FBI continues their behavior, Republicans should try to get the alleged whistleblower to come forward publicly.”
The lack of respect the FBI has for Congress has been outrageous and it’s no surprise that Comer and his colleagues are fed up. It’s hard to believe that we need to go to such lengths just to ensure that the American people receive proper justice, but if that’s what it takes to get to the truth, so be it.
And Comer isn’t alone in his calls for the FBI to fully cooperate: Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy had a phone call with Director Wray demanding the documents, and Republican Senator Chuck Grassley has advocated for a whistleblower to come forward publicly.
The FBI is out of touch with the American people and it’s time for them to get with the program. The American people deserve to know the truth about the Biden family, and withholding crucial documents certainly won’t get us any closer to it.
It’s time for the FBI to stop playing games and provide the documents Congress is asking for. Anything less is an insult to the American people.
