Breaking SWAT FBI Arrests Near Guthrie Home

A big law enforcement operation played out in Tucson Saturday night. SWAT teams and FBI agents were on the scene about two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home. Neighbors watched as armored vehicles and dozens of officers moved in.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said a written statement about the activity is coming. They also made this note: “There is no press briefing scheduled for tonight regarding the Nancy Guthrie investigation. A written statement is forthcoming.”

NewsNation reporter Brian Entin was on site and linked the raid to the ongoing Nancy Guthrie investigation. He posted updates from the scene and said the location is roughly two miles from Guthrie’s home.

Brian Entin wrote, “There is an active situation happening right now involving the Pima County swat team connected to the Nancy Guthrie investigation. I’m here but not revealing location to not interfere with investigation.”

According to Entin, two people were removed from the house during the operation. He also reported a nearby traffic stop may be connected. He tweeted, “Appears two individuals were taken out of the house where swat operation is happening. I’m told a nearby traffic stop is also connected.”

Entin added on-camera that witnesses saw a heavy law enforcement presence. He said, “We saw dozens of SWAT members. We saw FBI and Sheriff’s out here,” while reporting live.

Fox News and other outlets also covered the scene. One local source told reporters a warrant was being served and at least one person had been detained; other reports said two people were taken into custody. The situation had roads blocked off by Pima deputies.

This raid comes after investigators said they found DNA at Nancy Guthrie’s home that didn’t belong to her or people close to her. The sheriff’s office previously stated, “DNA other than Nancy Guthrie’s and those in close contact to her has been collected from the property. Investigators are working to identify who it belongs to.”

Details are still coming in. Officials promise a written statement. Expect updates as the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and federal partners release more information.
